Pittsfield NARA Conference September 30th

The Friends of the Silvio O. Conte Archives in Pittsfield, Massachusetts will be doing their third full-day conference, "Life in the Past Lane III" on September 30th at the Crown Plaza Hotel, One West Street, Pittsfield, Mass. Our own Sharon Sergeant will be speaking!

8:45 - 9:30 AM Jean Nudd, Archivist, NARA Pittsfield, “Where’d They Go? Finding Ancestral Migrations in Federal Records”

9:45 - 10:45 AM Sharon Sargeant, Ancestral Manor, “Using Maps in Migration Research”

11:00 AM - Noon Maureen Taylor, Ancestral Connections, “Identifying and Dating Family Photographs” - This lecture explores ten easy steps for naming those unidentified pictures tucked away in shoeboxes.

Noon - 12:45 PM Buffet LuncheonTossed green salad, pasta salad, chicken salad, rolls and breads, deli platter (ham, turkey, roast beef and cheeses), stuffed flounder w/dill cream sauce, sliced sirloin with a mushroom bordelaise sauce, oven roasted Red Bliss potatoes, string bean medley, apple pie (a la mode if desired), coffee and tea (both regular and decaf)

12:45 - 1:45 PM Genealogy Q&A Panel DiscussionBring a question to this hour with the experts. Sharon Sargeant, Maureen Taylor, Kathy Reilly and Jean Nudd have a panel discussion and answer your genealogy questions on any topic.

3:15 PM - 4:15 PM Maureen Taylor, 4“Discovering Genealogical Clues in 19th Century Photographs”

Registration fee for the conference is $45.00 if completed by August 26, 2006. After August 26, the fee will be $55.00 per person. Your registration includes morning coffee and muffins as well as the buffet luncheon
